VOGELSANG IP guided tour

Whether you want to familiarise yourself with the historical site or make a second visit, a Vogelsang IP guided tour is always recommended. Accompanied by certified guides, we offer insights into at least two historical buildings that are not freely accessible. During the 90-minute tour, you will learn a lot about the eventful history of the historic site of Vogelsang in the centre of the Eifel National Park.

In addition to the open tours, we also offer individual group tours at the desired time, possibly in other languages and/or barrier-free.

Dates for tours in German

March to October: daily at 2 p.m. and additionally at 11 a.m. on weekends and public holidays. November to February: Thursday to Sunday at 2 p.m.

Dates for open tours in English July to October: every Sunday at 2:15 p.m.
Dates for open tours in Dutch Mai to October: every Saturday at 2:15 p.m.
Duration 90 minutes
Price/tickets 12 € (10 € with reservation), concessions 8 € (6 € with reservation), children under 13 free; tickets online available or at the visitor information.
Upgrade In connection with the Vogelsang IP tour, you will receive discounted tickets on the same day for the permanent exhibition "Destiny: Master Race" for 6 € (reduced 4 €).

Tower ascent and panorama view

From the observation platform of the 48 m high Vogelsang Tower you will have an impressive 360 ° view over both the historic location Vogelsang and the Eifel National Park.

The flanking tower of the east wing characterises Vogelsang’s image as an "Ordensburg". Originally planned as a water tower, but quickly becoming redundant, it was nevertheless an indispensable motif for power and a symbol of grandeur.

In the space of 45 minutes and after climbing 177 steep steps, our tower guides will give you an overview of the monument area and its modern-day uses, as well as the National Park and the nearby Eifel area. Caution: Even healthy persons can run out of breath here!

12–22 February: daily at 1 p.m.
15–27 March: daily at 1 p.m.
28 March–2 November: Monday to Friday once daily at 1 p.m. and
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: five times daily, every hour on the hour from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

3 November 2026 to 31 March 2027: Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m., weather permitting, additional dates available on request. Please feel free to contact us!

Restrictions Important information: there is no lift and the ascent involves 173 steps. Unfortunately, the tower is not accessible to children under the age of six. Backpacks and bags are not permitted due to the narrow staircase. In adverse weather conditions, it may not be possible to climb the tower.

Exhibition tour “Wilderness Dreams”

If you would like to experience the exhibition "Spaces and Dreams of Nature" under the guidance of an expert, you can take part in an open exhibition tour every day without advance booking. Follow the "Spaces and Dreams of Nature" staff into the interactive exhibition and get to know more about forest and water, sensory perceptions and natural life cycles, biodiversity and wilderness. The guided tour of 90 minutes will give you an exciting insight into the contents of the exhibition, and then allows you time and space for individual explorations.
